OPINION: UCU Students Decry On The Delays Of Swearing In Of New Guild Cabinet By DOSA .



Ever since Uganda Christian University went for polls last year in November 18 2022, there have been reports from students complaining about the delays in the University to swear in the new elected 25th Guild leaders till now

Its almost two month now ever since Uganda Christian University based institution has no guild leaders in office since they have claims from the opponent of Ddumba Timothy who petitioned to the Guild Council over malpractice. Jorem law student who contested against Ddumba Timothy the 25th elect Guild President Uganda Christian University (UCU) after him earning the second position in the highly contested election petitioned the results that were declared by the Independent Electoral commission body that carried out electoral process

However students from Uganda Christian University based institution in Mukono told our scoop that they are dissatisfied with how the University is holding the Guild leadership . Students also condemn the University management for denying students their rights to be participate in guild leadership activities .One student said that the University can’t operate its programs on ground without guild leaders to support their works but its shocking that it’s now two month without guild leadership in office

According to some sources, students accuse director of students affairs (DOSA) for delaying the process of swearing in. The Director of Students Affairs is accused for cofining all powers in herslef having been sued as party to the petition suit as the returning officer who doubles as the committee who gives the hearing to the petition

However students call upon on the administration to hear their cry by stepping in to help them have their leadership back ever sicne they went for polls in November last year

Ddumba Timothy second year student pursing bachelors of degree in engineering who merged as winner in last year’s Uganda Christian University guild elections will take the office from Sserwadda Racheal who is the outgoing 24th guild president if all goes on favor of Ddumba Timothy
