Makerere alumni , staff members have endorsed Ezra Byakutangaza, Ex Guild Speaker Makerere University and one time UNSA President, for the seat of the Chairmanship in the 2022 Makerere Convocation election.

Although the the former Guild Speaker Makerere University has not officially declared his intention to contest in the 2022 election, he had said“all Makererans are asking me to run for Chairman ”.
Describing the ex unsa President as a “wind of welcome change”, Johnson said Ezra has carved a good image for himself as a leader who believes in selfless service to humanity.
He commended the Ex Guild Speaker for his efforts on leadership development he exhibited at the lvory tower, adding that fearless leader has excelled at securing the lives and properties of students, staff members within and outside Makerere
“Ultimately, we are looking for a Chairman to lead us. We need someone who will quickly course correct and show us the path forward. We need Ezra Byakutangaza to restore character, integrity and decency to the Makerere Convocation house said Makerere alumni
“We must step up, get out of our comfort zone, and vote for Ezra Byakutangaza for Makerere Convocation Chairperson. It is time for us to have initiative in our communities and networks to stand up for character, integrity, decency, and leadership.
We the Makerere Alumni, staff members need to step up and vote our conscience so Ezra Byakutangaza can capably lead this Makerere Convocation into the future,” they added.
The voting for the New Makerere Convocation members will be scheduled this very Month
The Makerere Convocation is bound that dialogues and discusses matters within the sphere of Makerere University and transmit recommendation arising out of such discussion to the University Council, Senate and their relevant committees. It consists of graduates and members of staff and works as a unifier of all people that have been through the gates of this supreme institution that has just marked its Centenary celebrations.
