UNSAPolls: Kyambogo Guild President Serge Tumwine Declares His Bid For General Secretary Seat Ahead Of December Polls


The 18th Kyambogo University Guild President, Tumwine Serge has joined the race to represent all University and tertiary institution students in the National Students Association (UNSA) House
Serge heightened his political ambitions by declaring his intention to contest in the UNSA elections scheduled for this month
Serge made this declaration early this week, a move which was welcomed by most Kyambogo University students who would like to send one of their own to represent them at the Students’ body.

The 18th Kyambogo University Guild President announced that he would compete for this highly rated political office through his WhatsApp status post made this week . He encouraged UNSA delegates to vote for him so as to restore the reputation of UNSA
” Gallant delegates, the time is now .lets make history by restoring the glory of UNSA” Serge posted through his WhatsApp status
Voting of new UNSA representatives is take place this very month
UNSA is the umbrella body that unites students’ leaders at tertiary and secondary levels of education in Uganda. It was established under Section 30 of the Education Act. It replaced the National Union of Students of Uganda (NUSU) in 1998 to end supposed inequality and discrimination in the organisation. It is mandated to voice students’ concerns, ensure students’ welfare and build effective leadership among students. It is managed in accordance with the UNSA constitution. The current President of UNSA is Yusuf the former Guild President Islamic University in Uganda
