After what may be described as a successful tenure in office as GRC school of Languages Literature and Communication, Ms Mutesi Hadijah, 87th’s GRC SLLC has made an official proclamation that she is worthy and qualified to extend her leadership skills to the Uganda National Student’s Association (UNSA)

Mutesi’s declaration today sparked off viral where she received overwhelming messages from her classmates, friends,students mentors, advisors who welcomed her candidature

Ms. Mutesi dubbed ” the hope of students has vowed to cause a fundamental change in UNSA.

Over 4 aspirants from different universities such as Muni University, Gulu University, Ugandan Christian University among others agreed to field only one candidate from one region for UNSA Vice Presidency

Through an interview, Mutesi said that her brand brings participatory, inspirational, and revolutionary leadership

Mutesi hails from Makerere University where she will be battling out with different candidates from various universities across the country

Mutesi Hadijah is a third year student pursuing Bachelor’s degree of journalism and communication at Makerere University. Mutesi said that she will use this platform in UNSA house to fight for equality, better education sector, advocate for scholarships to the best learners from different level of study.

UNSA is the umbrella body that unites student’s leaders at tertiary and secondary levels of education in Uganda. It was established under section 30 of the education Act. It replaced the National Union of Student’s of Uganda (NUSU) in 1998 to end supposed inequality and discrimination in the organisation. UNSA is mandated to voice student’s concerns, ensure student’s welfare and build effective leadership among students

Who is Mutesi Hadijah ?

Mutesi Hadijah is a vibrant and natured leader who has defined all odds .She rose from the smallest positions of leadership since primary school to secondary schools where she served as Head girl, assistant sports prefect, dormitory captain, Vice President, Deputy Speaker, and current GRC school of language Literature and Communication

Mutesi is known on records for being a good humanitarian who has been advocating her life to help the special needs people with disability through her organisation where she been serving humanity to the community

Mutesi worked with Makerere Female Caucus where she used her position to champion mentorship program through orienting young girls who were passionate about leadership

Mutesi in her year one, worked with abenakyo foundation to sensitize and create awareness to young girls about the dangers of early pregnancy .She used the same platform to preach the gospel of remaining in school till the appropriate time comes to the future mothers of this country.

Mutesi championed for the construction of more halls of residents of female students at Makerere University which earned her alot of respect from the public since she was the first person in the history of Makerere to prioritize for construction of more halls

Mutesi’s humble background forced her to work hard and managed to scoop a scholarship on government at Makerere University this therefore pushed her to walls to come out and contest for different positions including UNSA Vice President seat inorder to be the voice of the voiceless
