The political advocate and students’ favorite broke the news when he declared his intent to contest for a position in the guild government
During his time as the Vice President para counselling in 2021, he managed to attain to over 100 graduands. Its time for UCU to unite and reawaken true, passionate and student serving based leadership, says ldris.
His declaration erases off what had began as a mere rumour that the prolific generational politician was coming for the top seat at the faculty. Asked what has inspired his aspiration, says UCU students .
Since his declaration went public, Month back and he has been receiving a warm reception within the students’ and intellectual fraternity which perceives him to be the long awaited candle light in the stormy rains.

The name Kawooya ldris has been sounding and outstanding not only in the Ugandan Christian University (UCU) but also other institutional politics ever since he joined the struggle to fight for equal rights of students

His slogan make it happen is the anthem every UCU student pattains.
During his time in law school, he traveled to Jinja in the bid to raise funds for UCU fourth year graduands. He has handled several academic problems with law students and thus his mentees are uncountable.
Idris was a class representative Arts A- Level class during his study times at Gombe Secondary School where he left marks and outstanding records .He also served as Vice President Para Counselling UCU and he is the current President UMSA .
During Lockdown period with the limited resources, he successfully traversed several situated students hostels and reached out to the striving students with sets and relief who were stranded in hostels after the Presidential directives ..
