The Pepsi University Football League quarterfinals 1st leg are still going on with two matches played and two left to end the quarterfinal 1st leg. This is the 10th tournament of UFL sponsored by Pepsi in a bid of lifting football talents across campuses and the country at Large.
In the 1st two matches, Kampala Uganda (KU) lost to St Lawrence University (SLAU) at home in Kibuli giving SLAU an upper hand to go for Semis while the defending Champions Uganda Martyrs University (UMU) salvaged a late time equalizer against 2019 finalists Bugema University in a tight quarterfinal game at the home of Bugema thus securing a point in the 1:1 draw.
All eyes are set to the two remaining 1st leg quarterfinal fixtures which will be action packed according to the fans’ expectations. The 1st one will be between Nkumba University and Uganda Christian University (UCU) tomorrow Thursday 22nd September 2022 while the last one will be the Nakawa hill Derby between KYU and MUBs on Tuesday 27th September 2022 at KYU east end playground (Teargas arena). KYU and MUBs are seen as favourites for this year’s trophy according to the group stages statistics. Let’s watch how it goes on.
