Kyambogo University GRCs petitions VC Over end of semester examinations.

Kyambogo University GRCs led by Hon. Wafula Edrine Koholo have petitioned the Vice Chancellor prof Elly Katunguka over the matters arising from the end of semester examinations.

According to the letter issued to the office of the University Councils and other offices of the University,it reads that the number of issues have been registered ever since the exams started on 05th/09/2022 ranging from arrests of students,with fordged examinations permits to chasing out students with fees balances by ICT, Senate and quality insurance boses.

“Aware of the issues with present ACMIS of the students Portal where UGX 50,000 has been reflecting on students Portal inform of late registration not only applicable to private students but also government students for those who cleared before the 8 weeks.” the letter reads.

The letter further States that the students with less balance of Ugx 50,000 that is appearing due to system issues have also been avictim of the same circumstances.

Its noted that up-to-date ever since the examinations began hundreds of students have denied exams due to the Vice Chancellor’s letter made on 22nd/08/2022 regarding to the end of year Exams which stated that students who have not cleared tuition dues would not be allowed to sit for Exams and should register for Dead year.

Student leaders have come out to conderm such oppresion by the Vice Chancellor acknowledging the financial constraints brought by the economic situations and effects of covid 19 which worsened everything and number of students can hardly Meet their tuition obligation.

“I paid everything in time and tried to register but failed, when i visited the ICT center, they told me to wait since the portal had some problems yet it was towards exams, later on I registered but they brought additional fee of 50,000 that i had to pay , going to the Bursar’s office, they told me to pay indicating it was”LATE REGISTRATION.”student also revealed.

    I also support Hon WAFULAS petition about the end of the exams semester.it was their fault not students fault, in summary students who missed exams should continue without their exams and also should be removed from prison .

    I second Hon WAFULAS petition towards the end of semester.it was their fault not students fault .so those who missed exams should continue with their exams.

        Hmmmmmmmm,I know my case is different and hard to handle at this moment, but kyambogo you really unfair, for that matterlet me sign my dead year and go back to the village to dig,the good thing it’s raining!!!!bye bye my fellow students,till we meet again 😥🖐️🖐️🖐️🖐️

    What is happening currently at Kyambogo university is an evidence that some of the educated individuals are the ones causing misery among the society members ,,,,,, how can someone lose an exam due to system failure yet the problem can be sorted out

    Iam hating kyambogo slowly by slowly. This is not good at all. A parent hustles to get tuition paying in bits and after completion they want more can’t they get satisfied. Anyway success to coordinators your doing great.

    Really you cannot even imagine what’s wrong with kyambogo, asking for more money after completing the tuition mbu surcharge,,,,,am tired of it sualy
