Manchester United secures first Win 2:1 against Liverpool

After a difficult start to the premier League, the humbleness of Manchester United is finally off after their spirited 2 – 1 victory over rivals Liverpool.

Manchester United secured their first victory of the Erik ten Hag era by beating Liverpool 2 – 1 at Old Trafford.

Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford scored the goals, but the win was earned through an outstanding performance , as United Rose to the occasion on Monday night.

Although Mohammed Salah’s header ensured it was a tense 10 minutes, David De Gea made a couple of crucial saves and United’s back four were superb throughout, marshalled by Raphael Verane and Lisandro Martinez, were making a first start together as partnership.

The tenacious contributions of Diago Dalot and Tyrell Malacia were matched by Scott Mc Tominay, Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes in the midfield.

Their attacks were too electric, Sancho and Rashford making differences in terms of the score line. All teams made it to the pitch but the ultimate winner was yet to be.

Despite Liverpool ramping pressure after halftime, Martinez stood firm, contributing a number of blocks and tackles to keep merseysiders at bay as they sought to over haul the lead.
