Uganda on Monday night won its second gold medal at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in the men’s 10,000m final.
kiplimo a 21 year old long distance runner beat stiff competition from three Kenyans including of Kibiwott Kandie, Daniel Ebenyo and Edward Zakayo Pingua.
However, the Ugandan runner stunned everyone by putting up a record time of 27:09:19 to beat fellow Ugandan Joshua Cheptegei’s 10,000m record.
kiplimo said that him winning Commonwealth Games title was everything that he wanted and it was the most important thing for him this season as well. But he still have a lot of things to do in the future at the Olympics and world.
