Min.of Education : No more performance of Artists in schools

The ministry of education and sports issued out aletter to Head teachers and Principals of both Primary and Secondary Schools cautioning them not to hire or allow any of the “artists” to perform in schools.

The letter indicated that Failure to comply, will lead to school managers being personally held responsible and disciplinary measures charged against them.

This came after a video went viral of students in a school bus believed to be involved in sensual dances on July 11, 2022.

Later, on July 14, 2022,the Tororo Woman MP Hon Sarah Acheing Opendi revealed to the Ugandan Parliament that the rate at which musicians are spreading indecency in schools is alarming and therefore called for the banning of secular musicians from performing in schools.

The Ministry of Education and sports has to put a temporary ban on hosting of performing artistes on premises of public or private Primary and Secondary Schools until guidelines have been put in place.
