LUMBOX DECIDES: Lumbox Elders Endorses Arinaitwe James For Guild President Makerere University Ahead Of Tomorrow’s Lumbox Primaries

The council of elders, a special purpose committee of the Lumbox (LEC), has endorsed current Lumumba lnformation Minister Mr. Arinaitwe James as their Guild Presidential candidate for the coming 2022 guild election

The announcement comes at time when disagreements have rocked the oldest halls within the land of Makerere University. Some of the Elders Committe members have severally clashed with Hussein lbra Nrm flag bearer

While addressing campasstv today morning, the chairman of the LEC , said that LEC has already started to foster an arrangement with Makerere National Unity Platform(NUP) Chapter. He noted that the discussion involves agreement on the symbols to use when fielding candidates.

“We have built consensus among ourselves inside the LEC to actualise our engagements under People Power family in a formal structured understanding that we will leave no player out, “he said.

He declared their readiness to support Arinaitwe James for the Guild presidential seat but noted that they are not going to join NUP for now, unless otherwise.
“If we identify the need to join the party, we shall join and we shall let you know when and what to let you know,” he said.
Isaac , a member of LEC said the question of who their presidential candidate will be has been fully settled and is non negotiable.

Isaac said in the current situation Arinaitwe James provides the best opportunity to change this University politics . “We have negotiated long ago. We have consulted the students of Makerere who have the voice and we have agreed that Arinaitwe James will be our Guild Presidential candidate,”he said
