Teachers that will have not turned up for work by 30th June to be laid off

The ministry of public service has instructed the chief administrative officers; CAOs and town clerks to take stock if teachers present and submit the lists of those that will not have turned up by 30th June, 2022 such that they get laid off the government payroll.
According to the permanent secretary of public service Catherine Bitarikwate, they have learnt that some teachers decided to close school which is contrary to the government policies.
Teachers and UNATU administrators have been instructed to open schools before they are punished. She adds that All government employed teaches are advised to resume work by 24th June, 2022 because their demand for salary increment cannot be worked upon in the financial year 2022-23 and any teacher not willing to work at the ongoing wage rate should resign
