Makerere Guild Elections Takes Another Twist As Aspirants Plan To Organize Porridge Nights In Order To Popularize Their Candidature

Makerere University guild election has started off in high gear with aspirants setting grounds for their campaigns. This weekend students have tasked guild aspirants to host porridge nights in the neighborhood areas around campus since majority of students sleep in hostels out of campus. Other strategists have suggested that organizing porridge nights in hostels would build their support to students since porridge nights were halted at campus premises for further notice

Unlike other years, this political season had a slow start. However, the electioneering moods have taken wild twist.One of the guild aspirants, started his consultation by planning to organize porridge nights at different hostels.The aspirant described porridge night is a social gathering aimed at fostering unity amongst students of Makerere University.

However students in different hostels have stepped up their appetite and are all waiting for the return of porridge nights in hostels. The entrance fee is an empty container of one’s choice regardless of the size or capacity.

Many guild aspirants have started mobilising camps and different cultural associations have also started choosing sides while others are set to elect flagbearers.
