Former Makerere University 86th Guild President Ssempijja lvan Graduated With Bachelor’s Degree In Medicine And Surgery



Former Makerere University 86th guild president Ivan Ssempijja graduated on Monday at Makerere University’s 72nd graduation ceremony.

Ivan Ssempijja who served as the 86th guild president last year graduated on Monday May 23rd, 2022 with a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery.
Ssempijja is renown for his famous slogan called ‘melting magma’ that went viral on social media and all over the world which made him do miracles and wonders

Ssempijja lvan shocked the nation as he was elected Makerere’s Guild President in 48 hours.

Ssempijja lvan came to the guild race in 2021 and out competed his rivals in a highly competitive race that took place on 7th My 2021

Ssempijja lvan’s victory came as a surprise because he was the last person to join the race and he was not very active

Who is Ssempijja lvan?

Ssempijja lvan is 25 years old muganda from kalungu district who served as head prefect in primary. He later went to Kibuli SS for ‘O’ level and St Mary’s Kitende for his ‘A’ level .

Ssempijja lvan was former deputy speaker of Lumumba hall and later speaker of the same hall

He joined Makerere University in 2016 for a 5 years course, Bachelor’s of Medicine and Surgery which he completed in time in 2021 and he graduated on Monday this week

Ivan is currently working at china-uganda friendship Hospital, Naguru as a doctor

Ssempijja lvan is a policy Analyst and member of the National Unity platform. He is among the top NUP officials who unveiled the biggest Opposition party in the history of Uganda’s Politics to challenge the seating president in Power

Ivan ssempijja served as 86th Guild President Makerere University leading a government popularly known as melting magma generation that made rounds on social media and allover the world.

He advocated for a better tuition policies at the the mighty lvory tower where he achieved one of his manifesto five points during the time of campaigns to halt the controversial 15% cumulative tutition increment policy. The halt of 15% cumulative tutition increment policy made lvan receive overwhelming messages from the allover the world

Ssempijja lvan is remembered for standing with students during the time of pandemic situation where he visited stranded students who were in hostels and rentals in the slums of Kikumi Kikumi and Kikoni

Ssempijja lvan made a record for requesting the administration to allow students to sit for exams without paying tuition since majority of parents were affected by the pandemic and were not working by then, this prompted the administration to listen to his request and allow all students to sit for exams without paying tuition for agross period of time

Ssempijja lvan’s government is credited as the best government ever to out shine other governments that were there in power before him.

During a one on one interview with him .He warmly thanked all Makerere Students who voted him on 7th May 2021 and he said l was nobody till date, you guys made me whom lam today. When l had finished my Bachelor’s degree in medicine and Surgery l received different calls from unknown persons to work with them even before graduating as certified medical personnel. ” l take this gratitude to thank each and everyone who contributed a brick to my success especially comrade lron lady Nalukwago Judith who inspired me to join active politics when l had joined Makerere University. She is the person l live to celebrate upto date.

On Monday lvan Ssempijja’s graduation sets another record as, unlike most of his predecessors, he was able to serve as guild president and as well successfully graduate.
A number of past Makerere University guild presidents had set a wrong precedence of leaders often neglecting their academics and end up not graduating in time

The Makerere 72nd opening graduation ceremony was graced by president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and first lady Janet Museveni where by the security was so tight overall campus premises and neighborhoods like wandegeya, Kikoni, kikum kikumi
