Police reports; 11students were arrested yesterday during the protests over the escalating prices of commodities

Yesterday students from mother Universities in Uganda, Kyambogo,Mubs and makerere who were demonstrating against the escalating prices of the commodities of the products in Uganda were arrested near the parliament of Uganda and taken to Kampala central police station.
In awake of their dramatic arrest,the Police has released the statement on Thursday evening.
The Kampala metropolitan Deputy spokes person Luke owoyesigire said they arrested 11 students who are being held for inciting violence.
“The police got to know that the students are to move their petition to the the speaker over the escalating prices of the commodities,of course it would not be something illegal and ethical to do but the manner in which you did it at parliament is what brought us.”
He said they have established 4 students were from kyambogo University,4 from Makerere and 3 from Mubs.
Luke added that they are getting statements from them as investigations are on where they will either give them apolice bond or present them to the court before the period of 48hours elapses.
However during the the demonstration,some onlookers Said that they had the protesters claiming thet hey have tried to submit in they petition but all went in vein.
