The Kayunga RDC, Kigozi Ssempala yesterday warned National Unity Platform president, Robert Kyagulanyi, also known as Bobi Wine that he is not expected in the district because he is not wanted there.

The Kayunga RDC explained that whereas it had been agreed that Kyagulanyi visits Kayunga and campaigns for the NUP candidate Harriet Nakweede last week, the same was not met.Ssempala said that alternatively, they had allowed Kyagulanyi to campaign for the NUP candidate on Sunday and Monday but this didn’t happen.

However today being the last day of campaign,Nup several supporters and members we’re seen battling the heavy armed security forces along the streets of kayunga to welcome Bobi which has led to many being beaten injured including the candidate herself.

National Unity Platform (NUP) and Mityana Municipality MP Francis Zaake has allegedly been beaten by President Museveni’s Special Forces Command (SFC) security detail.

According to an eyewitness’ account, Zaake was trying to drive past the last presidential convoy’s car, before he was cut off and beaten.
NUP president Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine said in a tweet that “violence” was meted out to several of their leaders, not just Zaake.
