Nakwedde Harriet takes on the NUP flag in the forthcoming Kayunga district LC5 bye-election

Kayunga town and its Bukolooto suburb on fire as the celebration of Harriet Nakwedde’s selection as the National Unity Platform (NUP) party’s flag bearer in the forthcoming LC5 bye-election is on going, Nakwedde, who lost twice to Ms Ida Nantaba for the Kayunga District Woman MP race has today won her closest rival Rajab Ssenkubuge to take the NUP flag. She was announced flag bearer by the NUP leadership at Kamwokya party headquarters on Monday.

She will now face NRM’s Andrew Muwonge and independent candidates including Boniface Bandikubi and Magid Nyanzi.

For some of you who don’t know where the bi-election is coming from, the district chairperson for Kayunga District Local Government Hon. Ffefekka Sserubogo passed on. This left a vacuum yet to be filled therefore a by-election has been scheduled for December 16, 2021.
