Why we celebrate Easter

Every year, we look forward to celebrating one of the most important occasions in the Christian calendar, Easter. Children are usually given holiday of four days to celebrate with their families, by sharing chocolate eggs and traditional food.

The story behind Easter lies in the New Testament of the Bible which narrates how Jesus was arrested by the Roman authorities because he claimed to be the Son of God, and later crucified. His resurrection three days later marks the occasion of Easter.

Jesus was arrested by the Roman authorities because he claimed to be the “Son of God” and then sentenced to death. According to Christianity, his body was taken down from the cross to a tomb where he was buried. Later, people claimed that they had seen Christ and it was also confirmed that his body was missing from the tomb.

We celebrate Easter to worship our eternally perfect God who separated Himself from every other deity by choosing to give up His own rights and life to restore and save the rights and lives of His creation.

Because He has conquered sin and death, THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN HIM WILL ALSO LIVE.Jesus said to [Martha], “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25-26).

As campassTv media we wish you a blessed Easter holiday.
