Ogwang Robinson wins mubs Guild presidential elections

Ogwang is a third year student pursuing a Bachelor degree in Business Administration.

Ogwang Robinson secured 1009 votes while his opponents Hillary Tumusiime and Julia Muhumuza secured 713 and 501 votes respectively.

He will now take over from the outgoing guild president Romulus Tusingwire after the swearing-in.

The MUBS guild election was held this week following a postponement from 2020 when all learning institutions across the country were closed due to COVID-19.

Yesterday, students braved the hot sun and lined up at the MUBS Main Football grounds where they cast ballots in favour of their candidates.Ogwang, who is now awaiting swearing in to take over leadership is replacing Romulus Tusingwire, who has been the leader for almost two years now. The university holds guild elections every year but they were unable to elect new leaders in 2020 following the outbreak of COVID-19.
