Ayiko elected new Gulu university guild president

Gulu university decided to hold virtual elections as away to contain the spread of covid 19.

Following latest news coming in indicates that Ayiko Herbert is the newly elected Gulu University Guild President after defeating his six other rivals. Ayiko polled 607 votes beating his six competitors miserably.

Ayiko was on Sunday evening declared winner of the virtual poll by the university’s electoral commission through their returning officer, Philip Acidri.

Ayiko’s closest competitor (Awany) polled three hundred ninety-nine (399) votes followed by Alonyo Dolofine who polled only sixty five (65) votes. Yiga John Ivan was the worst performer who registered zero votes during the just concluded online poll.

Ayiko will officially swear in as the university’s students’ leader when the university reopens for all students in March.
