Uganda Christian University is set for its first-ever virtual graduation scheduled for December 18th 2020.
Over 765 students will receive various awards in a ceremony that has been down called due to COVID-19 restrictions on public gatherings
According to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of Academics, Dr John Kitayimbwa, the university cannot afford to operate normally given the current situation.
He further said that all students are expected to log in to the system so as to graduate.
“We shall have a command centre at main campus where other campuses shall be represented by their deans,” he said.
To students, this is unfavourable as many still have challenges accessing the system.
“We are faced with the greatest diversion of network and this may curtail our graduation,” a student told Campus Cam.
The UCU Guild president also revealed the registration deadline and outlined guidelines on how the ceremony will be conducted.
