Makerere university extends examination date for students

According to a communication dated November 20, Prof Nawangwe said due to the challenging security situation with sporadic riots in the city, management had decided to postpone examinations for finalists, which were scheduled on Friday 20th and Saturday 21st November 2020.

He said the decision was made in order to ensure the safety of students and members of staff who needed to travel through the city to various examination venues.

Prof. Nawangwe’s communication came after a letter written by the academic registrar, Alfred Masikye Namoah to the Makerere University community announcing the postponement of the exams.

“After consultations with Makerere University management, this is to inform you all students and other stakeholders that exams scheduled for Friday 20th and Saturday 21 have been postponed,” the letter copied to the vice-chancellor, deputy vice-chancellor (Academics) and acting deputy vice-chancellor (finance and administration) reads in parts. It was also copied to the acting university secretary, bursar, guild president, and speaker and Makerere University students guild.

According to Masikye, a new date for the postponed exams will be communicated later.wait for more updates.
